Read this as an overview and not as a country table: it puts every row on one page so the differences between the three markets are visible side by side, and the Licensed in column is the first column for that reason. The table you act on is the one under your own country, because a permit issued next door is not a permit here. The first column repeats the country named on the operator's own licence line. The second gives the body named beside that line, and where a footer prints a number with nobody attached to it this column says so rather than supplying a plausible name; two of the Nigerian rows are in that position, and for anyone about to fund an account it is the most useful cell on the row. The third column carries the permit numbers themselves, all of them where a footer prints more than one. Nothing in these three columns has been checked against a register. They are quotations, and the ordering figure beside them is arithmetic over the weights published on How we rate.

Six brands, five companies: SportyBet appears twice because it trades in Ghana and Nigeria on separate permits, with different numbers, different offers and different published payment terms. Treating those as one row would hide the thing this site exists to show.
The licence column, taken apart
In Ghana all three name the same body, the Gaming Commission of Ghana. SportyBet prints 0000237 beside it and MSport prints two references, one for sports and one for casino. Betway names the Commission and prints no number at all, which is a weaker line than the other two and the table says so rather than rounding it up.
In Nigeria the agreement collapses. SportyBet quotes a sentence naming the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and licence 0001014. Bet9ja prints 0001074/00000014 and BetKing prints 00000006/00000008, and neither footer says who issued either number. Those two cells read not named, and on this market that is the most useful thing the row has to tell you.
Why SportyBet Nigeria's line needs a date on it
The sentence SportyBet publishes about itself in Nigeria is a real quotation and it describes a position that changed. On 22 November 2024 the Supreme Court held that lotteries and betting fall to the states, and the National Lottery Regulatory Commission lost the national reach it had claimed.
So the quotation is accurate as a quotation and out of date as a description of who licenses betting in Nigeria today. This site prints it as the former. It is not our sentence about the law, and no page here turns it into one.
What is missing from this table
No Kenyan brand appears, and that is the largest gap on the site. Nothing about it is a shortage of candidates: the gap is that no Kenyan permit has been read where its operator published it.
Nothing in any licence cell has been checked against a register either. Every one of them repeats what the bookmaker publishes in its own footer, and a cell that says not named means the operator printed a number without saying who issued it.
